Holt County officials tell us sandbagging efforts continue today in the Fortescue area... which is helping keeping the flooding at bay there.
Residents of Craig are fighting off water from the south of the one-eleven spur with a temporary earthen levy... but pumps and more sandbagging are helping to keep the water out of Craig.
Most of Corning Missouri's residents have already evacuated... and the water there is slowly continuing to rise.
Holt County officials say ditches throughout Corning are full.
The Army Corps of Engineers are spending today investigating the Union Township levee southwest of Craig by boat.
The Red Cross Shelter in Mound City is closed at this time.... volunteers are on standby though and can re-open the shelter within an hour if needed.
Sandbagging volunteers near Fortescue are still being taken care of by Red Cross.
Holt County Emergency Management tell us the Missouri River seems to be dropping slowly.... but say the impact to the county will continue for the next several weeks.
