Savannah Councilman Ron Steele had several questions at the last city meeting, including the long-term cost to the city if it upgrades its downtown district and if increased revenues would return.

It will cost Savannah about 40 thousand dollars a year for the 3 year program.

Council member Greg Gabler says the program could help the community, such as helping to fix up the 10 vacant buildings downtown.

The Savannah Council also voted to pay off the recently-purchased skid loader- a bill of about 27 thousand dollars.

The City also reports it has 140 customers now using the automatic withdrawals for utility payments.

Savannah could be losing one of its employees in the effort to save costs.

Rudy the K-9 at the Police Department has been working there for about a decade.

The City is considering whether to retire the K-9 unit because of the transportation costs to the vet and other expenses.
