Farmland Foods is the target of the class action suit... which alleges the food processor didn't pay workers for the time they took to get in and out of safety gear, as well as cleaning the equipment, nor paying for walking to and from work stations.
Three law firms- from Kirksville, St. Louis, and Minnesota- have taken the case on behalf of 5 Milan workers.
If true, the processing facility could be found in violation of federal wage and hour laws.
A spokeswoman at the Kansas-City based corporation says Farmland had no comment on the suit.
