Alumni Luncheon

The event will see two members of the Northwest family receiving lifetime achievemnet awards. Dr. Russell Thompson will receive the lifetime achievement award for distinguished contributions to the field of education. Thompson was a superintendent of Columbia public schools for 18 years, had two commendations for outstanding achievemnet, and was named national education administrator of the year. Dr. Jim Reed will receive the lifetime achievement award for service to Northwest Missouri State University. Reed was head football coach at Northwest from 1976 to 1982, with a MIAA conference championship winning team in 1979, and was Northwest's director of athletics from 1994 to 2001. In addition, over 100 Northwest students will be recognized as scholarship recipients. The luncheon begins at 1 p.m. this Sunday in the student union ballroom at Northwest Missouri State University.
