MISSOURI STATE (2010-3-11) This afternoon's tornado drill in Missouri is to keep severe weather season at the top of our minds.
And the national weather service out of pleasant hill says it's needed, because long-term forecasting of tornadic activity is just too tricky. Matthew Dukes is a meteorologist with the service and says it's anyone's guess how many tornados our region will see this season. Missouri's statewide tornado drill was originally scheduled for Monday, but was moved to this afternoon at 1:30 because of the chance of severe weather earlier this week.
