The recent gathering in Columbia determined the biggest problem for rural healthcare is the lack of workers. Ed Salsberg spoke at the meeting, he's the founding director of the association of American Medical Colleges. He predicts if the education of health practioners can be strengthened, it will help everyone. The director of the University of Missouri area Health Education Center says he has no doubt the challenge of keeping doctors in rural areas will only become worse in the future.
