St. Joseph Murder Plea

Ronny Rathman admitted guilt in the second-degree murder charge of Rodney Rathman, who died at the hospital in St. Joseph back in October. Rathman says he was holding the infant and trying to take care of a fight between two of his older boys and when Rodney wouldn't stop crying, Rathman hit him on the back of the head twice, dropping him into a chair and than an end-table. Child protective services had visited the Rathman home 5 times during the infant's short life but didn't remove him. Rathman's wife is already serving a 5 year sentence for abusing the infant. Ronny Rathman is set to be sentenced up to 30 years in prison in mid-March.
