School Lockdowns

The State's department of public safety in Jefferson City sent out an alert just before noon through the "Missouri Alert Network" to schools of a wanted man carrying a gun. The message reportedly didn't contain any location, but some schools getting the alert acted. Savannah R-3 superintendent Donald Lawrence says the alert was vague enough, his district decided to err on the side of caution. After about an hour and 10 minutes a second alert giving the "All Clear" was sent to schools in the State and the incident was over. Savannah police say the suspect wasn't even in the State of Missouri.
