For three consecutive months the numbers of cases in the 4th judicial circuit have exceeded the maximum number predicted. The citizen-paid public defender acts as an attorney for those facing jail time but that can't afford to hire an attorney. A member of the State Public Defender's Office for our region was also at the case load meeting.
