The group is deciding on nominations for the national register of historic places. Rankin Hall in Tarkio is on the campus of the now-closed college. The 3 story building was built in 1931 and used to house the college's administrative offices, some classrooms, and art and music studios. Another nomination being considered for the historic register is the Masonic temple building in Kirksville. The Missouri advisory council on historic preservation is a 12 member group of historians, architects, and citizens and is meeting today in Jefferson City.
