Deer Hunting

The season starts Saturday morning and closes the day before Thanksgiving for the most popular hunting season in Missouri. The antler-less season starts immediately after the firearms season starting on November 25th this year. The department of conservation predicts more than 250,000 deer harvested during this years firearms portion of deer season. Holt County concervation officer Russ Shiflet says there are several reasons to watch out for deer this time of year. Shiflet adds hunters heading out need to remember to where orange hunting clothes to keep all hunters as safe as possible.
