At their recent meeting, members of the Chillicothe City council voted to enter into a contract with "Foutch Brothers" to turn the former inmate quarters into new loft apartments. City manager Dean Brookshire says the new apartment complex will include apartments of various sizes. He adds the new project will help meet a huge need in Chillicothe. In addition to the loft apartment construction, other portions of the 42 acre property will also be renovated for public use. Those possible projects include soccer fields and a new walking trail. Brookshire says work will begin as soon as possible, and the entire project could take up to 5 years to complete.
