MARYVILLE, MO (2009-10-06) Police in Maryville are warning businesses of an apparent scam.
Public safety says twice, two men have tried to confuse and short-change cashiers. Authorities say both times it happened at Wal-Mart, where they bought small items, paid with large bills, then asked for change back and forth trying to confuse the cashier into giving them back more money with larger bills. The two are described as a younger bald white male with a very large nose and an older man, heavy set with white hair. Public safety advises businesses not to make change once a transaction is completed.
