SAVANNAH, MO (2009-09-30) The State issues a hazardous waste permit for a Northwest Missouri Company.
Hold County's "Exide Technologies" owns a lead battery smelting plant that recycles batteries in forest city North of Savannah. The State's approval lets exide store hazardous waste in containers and buildings, treat the waste, and dispose of it in an on-location landfill. The State DNR says anyone not agreeing with its green-light for exide to handle the waste can contact it for an appeal.
