The Nodaway County Sheriff's Office tells us they and the Highway Patrol responded to a house at 30-891 highway 136 East of Maryville on a call and were met by a man with a gun. A Standoff and nogotiations with the Highway Patrol Swat Team started around 2 O'clock Sunday morning and lasted until just after 8:30 Sunday morning. Overnight Highway Patrol kept motorists from traveling the stretch of 136 between routes double E and F for safety reasons. Authorities say the suspect Bryan Pitts, surrendered peacefully and no shots were ever fired.
