News Brief

2009-08-05MARYVILLE, MO |  By: Wayman

Most cities in both our Iowa and Missouri communities are participating in the State's "Tax Holiday".

Local shoppers can get buy back to school supplies, clothing, computers, and other items without paying state or city sales tax.

Even though cities had the option to opt out of participating, most all of our listening area towns agreed to waive the taxes.

Maryville is one of those and City Manager Matt Lacurf says even though the city looses tax revenue, it's worth it.

Depending on where you live county sales tax may still apply.

The Missouri Sales Tax Holiday lasts this Friday through Sunday.

The Iowa Sales Tax Holiday runs Friday and Saturday.
