Farm Field Day

This year's Field Day includes three separate farm tours focusing on important issues facing farmers in our region. One of the tours offered focuses on Nutrient Management. It will feature discussions on managing nitrogen in a wet spring, fine tuning your nutrient management using precision agriculture, and the results of an ongoing fertility demonstration being conducted on the farm.A pest tour will also be offered, focusing on the impact of insecticide corn and soybean seed treatments. Graves Chapple Farm Coordinator Jim Crawford says the event is open to the public, and you don't have to be a career farmer to attend. The first tour of the Farmer's Field Day begins at 8:30 in the mornign on Tuesday at the Graves Chapple Farm. For more information you can call 660-744-6231
