K-C-P and -lLwants to adjust rates to reflect increase costs it's incurred because of higher purchased power costs and higher coal and freight costs.

If approved by state regulators, it would mean the typical residential bill in the St. Joseph and Maryville areas would raise about another dollar a month.

K-C-P-and-L already received permission recently to raise electric bills by about 12 dollars a month.
