Emergency CRP

Executive Director of the Farm Service Agency in Nodaway County, Tim Dreier (dry-er), says the release of C-R-P is strictly due to abnormal weather over the past few months.

Dreier says between March and June of this year, Nodaway County was at 163% of normal precipitation. He adds the emergency release gives producers flexibility to hay the same acreage they have hayed in the previous two years, which would not normally be eligible.

Farmers interested in taking advantage of this emergency haying opportunity need to stop by the Nodaway County Farm Service Agency in Maryville to fill out an application. The window for emergency haying only lasts until August 31st, so Dreier urges farmers to stop by his office soon to pick up their application information.
