The Squaw Creek National Wildlife Refugee will assist five people who are confined to a wheelchair in a deer hunt this December.
Hunters will participate in a managed primitive firearms deer hunt, using only black powder weapons. Each hunter will be permitted to harvest two deer, but only one antlered.
Refuge Manager, Ron Bell, says each hunter will have a helper, to assist them during the hunt.
The Squaw Creek Refuge will host the deer hunt December 12th and 13th. The hunt has five available slots and is on a first come, first serve sign up. Hunters can obtain more information and apply by calling the refuge at 660-442-3187.
