The Nodaway County Health Department confirms a recent traveler to Maryville was not felling well during the visit and has since been diagnosed with the H1N1 influenza virus.
Officials at Northwest Missouri State confirm the individual also had interaction with campus and community members.
An advisory has gone out to Maryville and Northwest residents to always remember to wash hands frequently and to stay home from work or school if you're ill… and to observe coughing and sneezing etiquette.
The advisory comes a day after the Buchanan County Health Department also confirms an H1N1 virus case in the St. Joseph area.
That particular strain of virus is considered to have relatively mild symptoms, but is the target of a World Health Organization advisory.
