Chilli School Funds

The district will receive nearly 670 thousand dollars from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act plan.

Dr. Linda Gray Smith, Chillicothe R-2 Superintendent, says the money must be used for title one and special education programs.

Although the money is set for these programs Smith adds the funds provide an opportunity to improve the district overall.

Specific plans for Chillicothe include hiring a part-time Field School reading teacher and a full-time reading teacher for the Middle School.

Funds for special education will be used to provide a classroom for the districts autustic students and to hire an aide for high school special education students.
