MARYVILLE, MO (2009-01-23) KXCV news has confirmed a major employer in Maryville is furloughing workers next month because of the economic slowdown.
The plant manager at Energizer says starting February 6th…. The battery plant will only be operating 4 days a week.
That schedule will last 5 weeks.
Plant manager Candice Plagens says holiday sales were especially weak, and the shortened work week will give employees an opportunity to not be hit quite so hard in the recession.
Plagens says the schedule for the shortened work weeks was even coordinated with events in the public school's calendar to make it easier on employees.
