The city of Savannah is a step closer to returning money to customers. It's part of a new plan to return utility deposits to customers who don't have any penalties. An ordinance will be discussed at the next city council meeting, but members also wondered about turing over the deposit money for citizens who couldn't be found. The council agreed to have unpaid balance or utility deposits go to the state's unclaimed property division after two years.
In other news Savannah's mayor re-appointed Kira Thaler to the Park Board... and passed a resolution commending Janice Hatcher for her 36 years of service as the City Clek/Administrator. Hatcher recently retired.
