Savannah City Council Followup

That's the retirement village project officials were hoping could get state funding; however, that's been denied.

The city council had earmarked about $180,000 to upgrade 3rd street, which would carry traffic to the housing project.

But now that some of the funding for the facility fell through, the city at it's last city council meeting decided to re-evaluate if it should use that money on other streets in town.

In other business, the police department decided on a type of bullet proof soft body armor vests, which is the same kind the Kansas City, Kansas police officers use.

The approximate is $3400.

And Savannah will be participating in the "Great Northwest Days" lobbying effort in February.

It will send $500 to that cause.
