Regional Jail

Right now Daviess and Dekalb County Commissioners share the facility in Pattonsburg, which is a first joint-jail for the state.

Recently, county commissioners from Ralls, Lincoln, and Pike counties met with their Northwest Missouri counterparts to understand financial and operational considerations.

The three visiting jails have two facilities with just under 3 hundred beds for prisoners.

They're interested in reducing costs and looked to the Northwest Missouri jail as a model.

Right now the Regional Jail in Pattonsburg spends about a dollar and a half per day for each inmate to have 3 meals.

It charges about 30 dollars a day for total expenses to house prisoners from outside the two-county area.
