State investigators say they found a nearly 2 thousand dollar discrepency between federal money for road construction and the amount Holt County actually spent because accurate records were not prepared.
They also found 13 outstanding checks the county wrote that had never been deposited- one dated back to February of 2005.
All the checks were for relatively minor amounts, but auditors suggest Holt County's Treasurer keep closer accounting.
The state also found no standardized time sheets for county employees nor a centralized sick leave and vacation records.
The county says since the audit took place, it's corrected that issue.
