MARYVILLE, MO (2009-12-22) A Maryville man is sentenced for stealing more than 163 thousand dollars from a gas station.
Chad Chubick worked at Murphy Oil in Maryville- his attorney blames the crimes on a gambling addiction.
Chubick plead guilty to the three counts, expedited his court proceedings, and has been sentenced to a total of 10 years in the Department of Corrections.
Appearing before Judge Roger Prokes Chubick apologized, admitting he made bad choices and urged the court to let him pay back the stolen money.
The judge warned Chubick as young as he was- quote- "a lot of wasted potential"..... Adding "hopefully you'll get your life on track down the road".
Prokes then commended Chubick for speeding proceedings to sentencing, adding he admired him for taking responsibility for his stealing and said it spoke to his character.
