MARYVILLE, MO (2008-10-11) The credit markets may still be trying to recover, but it's no longer a problem for one of Maryville's largest economic engines.
Northwest Missouri State has issued bonds for more than 7-point-6 million dollars to help finance construction projects on campus.
University officials say 4 and a half million of the revenue bonds will help pay for renovations to the Valk center.
Another 3 million will help with the new studio theater that's opened on campus.
The University's separate foundation originally planned to loan the school the money in 2007…. But the dip in the financial markets stretched the 3 to 5 month process.. Into 14 months.
Funding to pay off the construction is now secure, and both projects are now being used by students and the community.
