KXCV and KRNW news has learned Carbolytic Materials Company - or CMC - is breaking ground a week from today in Maryville's industrial park.
CMChas developed a chemical process to break down shredded tires and re-capture the original oil and other materials to be re-used in other rubber products.
Although it will have a small laboratory in the new center of innovation on the Northwest Campus, next week's groundbreaking in industrial park will be a 20 thousand square foot manufacturing plant where the tire shreds will be trucked in and broke down.
The plant is expected to be operational by summer.
