The federal government offered millions to northwest missouri residents, and so far we've taken them up on it.
The federal emergency management agency has given out more than 8 million dollars in aid since the flooding earlier this summer.
Nearly 2 thousand residents of Andrew, Gentry, Holt, Linn, Livingston, Nodaway, Putnam, and Worth counties have applied for the funds.
Nearly half of that has been in housing assistance to provide temporary housing and home repairs.
Eight thousand dollars have been paid to those whose work or employment was effected by the flooding.
