On Thursday, April 10, the House of Representatives passed their budget and eliminated public media funding.
While the vote is disappointing, we shouldn’t be discouraged. This is just the beginning.
The vote was the first step in this year’s budget process. Soon, the spending committees in both the House and Senate will take a closer look and make final funding decisions for public media. KXCV-KRNW will keep you posted on these discussions.
Most importantly, thanks to you a strong message was delivered to Congress: protect local stations and the programs everyone loves. Advocates for Protect My Public Media sent over 25,000 messages to congress in less than one week.
We’re grateful for your support and ask you to help us grow the network of public media supporters. Ask your friends and family to join Protect My Public Media and help make our network strong.
Together we can protect public media.
