HARRIS NAMED GENERAL MANAGER OF KXCV/KRNW

Rodney D. Harris, Albany, has been named general manager of KXCV/KRNW. Harris has served in a similar capacity in commercial radio - KAAN AM-FM, Betheany, and KMRN-AM and KKWK FM, in Cameron. The four station cluster was owned by the Shepherd Broadcast Group untillast June when GoodRadio-TV purchased the entire group. Harris will begin duties at Northwest on April 21.

"I'm excited about the opportunity to return to Northwest Missouri State University as general manager of KXCV/KRNW. It has been a dream of mone to be in a position to give bgack to the University that gave me so much. I'm confident that my successful 30-year career in commercial radio was due in large part to the lessons learned and experiences I received at Northwest,said Harris."

Going to KAAN radio soon after he graduated with a B.S. in radio, television and film from Northwest Missouri State University, Harris joined the Shepherd Group as an account executive at KAAN AM/FM.Becoming general manager in 1987, and in 1999, Harris assumed the additional general management duties at the Cameron stations. Harris has been active in the Albany community, having served on the Albany R-III Board of Education and as a member and past president of the Albany Rotary Club and the Albany Booster Club. He is also a member of professional broadcast associations.
